Cherries (Student of the 2019 Trainer’s Challenge)

Cherries has been ADOPTED!

Cherries is a nice bay mare who came to MHARF from a May 2017 humane case. She was foaled in approximately 2015 and stands around 13.2hh and is still growing. She is half sister to Laylee who came from the same case. We don’t have a lot of information about Cherries’ breeding but believe she is an Arab/paint/pony cross. She spent the summer with trainer Brenda Boyd for our 2018 Promise of the Future Training Competition. (Please note: the POF competition is for horses 3 and under who are too young to start under saddle. It is an in-hand competition only.) Brenda and Cherries competed successfully and brought home the Grand Championship! Cherries has now been placed with trainer Sarah Lemke for our 2019 Trainer’s Challenge. She will spend the spring and summer in training and will compete under saddle in the Challenge on Sept. 7th. For more information on how to adopt Cherries or any of the other horses at the Trainer’s Challenge, please visit our Adopting a Trainer’s Challenge Horse page!
