Thank you to Cindy for sending us this update on Jr. (formerly known as Ernie) and for giving him such a wonderful life!
“I just want people to know these are great horses if given the chance, proper care, and training. This horse is incredibly special and I’m so blessed to be his human.”
(You may recognize this beautiful sorrel gelding as our 2011 Trainer’s Challenge grand champion with trainer Annie Schaal.)

Thank you so much to Jordyn for this update on Bad Lass!
“Lass is doing amazing and I love her so much. We get along so well! I nick named her “Pancake” and she even walks up to me when I yell that to her pasture . I just recently found out she loves thin mint girl scout cookies ( I knew we got a long for a reason). She has a great personality and is a once in a lifetime horse for me. I am so thankful to have her – Thank you so much for making it possible!”

Just an update on Cisco (we call him Cookie because he loves horse treats): he is doing well. He spent the winter eating, playing with his buddy, playing with the jolly ball, salt pan and any other toys we could find for him and his buddy. Didn’t get many pictures of him in the deep cold as the camera wouldn’t work– but he left his blanket on for a couple of days when it was terribly cold. Cisco sends regards, he is tired of snow and looking forward to grass! (Cisco, aka Francisco, is the one with the big star).–Brenda

“Pablo and Buster are adapting nicely. I think they really appreciate the heated barn during weather like this! I’ve attached a pic of them settled into their cozy stall. They like to play with their other pony friend during the day. He really likes having the company. “ –Tammy.

Thank you to Dan and Cassie at Complete Equestrian Company for this update on Dixie. Dan and Cassie adopted Dixie simply because they wanted to give a home to a senior horse in need. What an amazing thing to do!
“Our beautiful Dixie whom we adopted from Minnesota Hooved Animal Rescue Foundation made it through the winter vortex! Blanket off today to enjoy the sunshine 🌞She recently celebrated her one year anniversary with us. For a mid-twentysomething she is going strong thanks to unlimited hay in Hay Chix nets, Triple Crown Feed senior and tons of love and exercise from us at CEC!”

Thank you, Lorrie, for the update on Romeo! She says:
“Romeo is settling in nicely with us and is a pleasure to have in our barn. We can’t wait until warmer weather arrives and we can do a bit more riding!”

MHARF alumni JoJo, Banner, Lakota Bay and Dreamer (formerly Gretzky) are all enjoying life out in South Dakota where the climate is a little warmer! Jojo and Lakota Bay will be featured along with some of the kids from the Pine Ridge Reservation in a documentary for Swedish Public Television in the spring of 2019 (and you may recognize Thomas, Banner’s trainer from the 2018 Trainer’s Challenge). JoJo and Lakota, both mustangs, love the attention they receive from the kids. Thank you to Nicole and Thomas for the update and the pics!
