Draco is a 1996 black gelding who stands approximately 15.2hh. We aren’t sure of his breeding but he may have some Morgan in him. He was adopted many years ago but his adopter has now had to return him and he needs a new home! She describes him as a “been there, done that” kind of horse who has mainly been ridden English but does have some western experience. He also has trail experience and is not a horse that tends to be barn sour or buddy sour. She says he is an awesome horse who loves to work. He does tend to be forward and energetic–so better suited to an advance beginner/intermediate rider. Update on Draco 05/18: We had radiographs done on Draco’s front leg to determine the cause of an ongoing lameness issue. Sadly he has been diagnosed with ringbone and a bone spur. He shows no signs of lameness or pain in the pasture, just when riding, so his quality of life is still very good. His foster home says he moves beautifully in the pasture and still has a ton of energy and spark. He could still be suitable as a light trail horse with steroid injections (that would have to be tested out) but should probably just remain a companion horse at this time.
