Foxy

Foxy has been adopted!

Foxy is a nice bay grade Arabian mare who came in during a December 2017 humane case. She stands 14.2hh and was foaled in approximately 2010. She was pregnant at intake and gave birth to a healthy bay filly (Faline) on May 5th, 2018. Foxy was not broke to ride at intake so she was placed with trainers Kaitlyn Fedewa (mentored by Anna Hill) for our 2019 Trainer’s Challenge.  She spent the spring and summer in training but showed continuing signs of just not being ready to have someone climb on her back. Since we didn’t know much about what Foxy experienced before coming into the rescue, her trainers opted to take everything very slow with her.  She was able to compete in the Challenge in-hand classes and she did well. Foxy has been in foster care with the Fedewa family since the 2019 Trainer’s Challenge. In 2020 trainer Jeremy Kaiserlik and his intern Emily stepped in to give her a start under saddle. She has now resumed her under saddle work with trainer Sarah Lemke. You can follow all of Foxy’s training and see several more videos of her under saddle on her Facebook Page. Foxy is available for adoption and is suitable for a confident intermediate rider and up.

UPDATE 08/16/21: Over the weekend Foxy and Sarah competed in their first 15 mile endurance/competitive trail ride, taking first place out of 11 competitiors!
