Thank you to Latte’s adoptive family for these photos from this winter. They say Latte has been doing very well with training and a patient reintroduction to riding (he especially enjoys short trail rides on their property).

When we were contacted by Suzanne who was looking for a gentle companion for a nearly blind mare, we immediately thought of Freedom. So far Suzanne reports that everything is going very well and Freedom is behaving like the gentleman we know him to be!

Everyone at MHARF wants to extend our sympathy to Tara, Cameryn, and Morgan on the loss of their beloved mare Maggie. They adopted Maggie after our 2009 Trainer’s Challenge (for which she was trained by Haley Furchner). Their experience over the years with Maggie prompted Cameryn and Morgan to enter our “Promise of the Future” training competition for young horses in 2019 and these talented girls took home the POF Grand Championship with the mare Epona. We thank them for sharing these beautiful photos of Maggie with us and for giving her such a great home for over a decade!

Thank you to Emilee for this update on Isabeau (who she adopted at the 2019 MHARF Trainer’s Challenge–trained by Marirose Berner): “Isabeau (Beuah) is the best little thing. She’s extremely smart and is learning new things every day. She still has her little sassy attitude though, which makes me love her more and more.”

Thank you to JoAnn for this update on her MHARF horse RJ, adopted 14 years ago! JoAnn says RJ has been “a joy since day one”.

“Once upon a time there was a girl whose life was changing around the same time a sweet little foal was probably being born. Each chapter in their story playing out in ways not expected yet for a purpose. They are now writing their story together. Happy 5 months together Myla & Sky!” -Myla’s Mom

Thank you so much to Bug’s adoptive family for the update on the wonderful little mustang mare:
Bug has been a huge part of our family since we adopted her nearly 2 1/2 years ago. She in intuitive and gentle with each of our four children’s abilities-from walking on a lead line with our youngest to a working partnership with her main rider who is 12 years old. Bug is a member of our family and we were blessed with the opportunity to adopt her….Bug has taught us patience, partnership and empathy. We’re thankful for all she has taught us and continues to teach us!

Our hearts go out to Rochelle and the rest of Izzy’s Wrisky Ranch family!
“Heaven received a real angel today. Today we sadly said goodbye to Miss Izzy. She has been a lesson and camp favorite horse at Wrisky for 5 years. Her quirky but honest personality and sweet demeanor made her a quick favorite. Although she was a loved Wrisky horse she truly belonged to those who rode and loved her. I can’t express enough how honored I am to have had such a sweet angel come to us. She truly has touched so many young and learning riders, igniting the flame for the love of horses and rising. I will miss her so much but am glad she is at peace. “
