Thank you to Kem and Ben for this update on Dove who was adopted from us in September:
“Dove, now known as Cincinnati (Cinci for short), is pictured here with her adopter Ben. She is receiving tons of love, not just from her owner, but from all of us at the barn. She is an absolute sweetheart, very calm and affectionate. Ben reports she’s also been a great trail horse!”

Thank you to Mary and family for this update on their adopted Pony, Noel: “Have I mentioned lately that Noel is gold? She was a dinosaur for Theo’s birthday. She made so many kids happy. In exchange she got to eat some grass, which she thought was agreeable.”

We are saddened to hear about the loss of Rose (previously known as Maya) who crossed the “Rainbow Bridge”. We want to thank Margie and Brian for adopting her and giving her a wonderful final spring and summer. Rose came to MHARF during a humane case in March and was so lucky to be adopted by these wonderful people who made sure she received proper nutrition, veterinary care, and plenty of love. In the end her arthritis pain from an old injury could no longer be managed to keep her comfortable. Working with their vets at Anoke Equine, Margie and Brian made the kindest decision for Rose while the weather was still warm. From Margie: “Rose was a joy to have in the barn. She always had a nicker and absolutely insisted on being scratched when her water bucket was filled. She was a kind and generous spirit and she will be greatly missed.”

“With a very heavy and broken heart, Dallas has fallen asleep today. He went peacefully. Dallas gave so much love to everyone that has ever been with him. He always had to greet you with a nudge or his little face on your chest. He loved just following you when in paddock or round pen. He has filled my life with such happiness and love. His personality was such a joy to witness. I was the lucky one to have him for the 3 years. He will always be in my heart. He’s gone but I will never forget him. He had a very beautiful sunrise and a beautiful day for his last day on this earth. Will never forget the joy and love I felt from him. He is now running has hard as he can. His mane blowing in the wind. Love you Dallas.
Rhonda”

We’re so sorry to hear about the loss of Vegas (adopted from MHARF in 2010). We want to thank Andrea and her family for these beautiful photos of their beloved mare who was truly part of the family. We know she will be greatly missed by all of them, and we are so grateful that they cared for her until the end.
(Vegas was known as “Reba” when she competed in our 2010 Trainer’s Challenge with trainer Jamie Johnson).
