Sara (Currently in Rehab)

Sara is a grade quarter horse mare who is is in her early teens and stands 15.3hh. She came to MHARF in June 2024 when the kind person who had rescued her in 2023 asked us to assist in finding her a permanent home. When Sara was rescued, the vet assigned her a body score of 2.  Sara had been seriously neglected by her previous owner but was lucky enough to have someone step in to take over her care. She is now well on her way to recovery. She is passive in a herd and is easily pushed away from food by more aggressive horses, so anyone who wants to adopt Sara will need to keep this in mind and make sure she has access to the nutrition she needs without having to compete for it. We have been told she was ridden in the past, but we are going to give her some time to settle in and gain a little more weight before we do a training assessment.
