Nutmeg is a sorrel grade quarter horse mare who came to MHARF from a December 2017 humane case. She was foaled in approximately 2006. She was in foal at intake and she gave birth to a beautiful filly we named Alice on August 18th, 2018. Nutmeg is an extremely sweet mare. She is broke to ride but she has also been diagnosed with navicular disease. She could be suitable for light trail riding for a smaller rider but she would require front shoes.
Electra came to MHARF from a December 2017 humane case. She is 15hh grade Arabian mare. She is approximately 8 years old and she was not broke to ride at intake. She was placed in our 2018 Trainer’s Challenge of the Unwanted Horse with trainer Natalie Linders and spent the spring and summer in training before competing successfully in the Challenge on 09/22/18, taking Fifth Overall High Point.

Cupcake is an aged (late 20’s) mare who came to MHARF from a recent northern Minnesota humane case. She was very thin at intake and badly in need of dental work. Cupcake is considered a special needs horse and will require careful feeding.

“Here’s a picture of my beautiful girl, Ming. After a run around the arena, she stopped to catch her breath. She has turned into a strong, smart mare. She’s the lead mare in a herd of 13. We call her the “sidewalk supervisor” since she keeps track of everyone coming in and out of the pasture. Chatting with them as they come and go. Such a chatty girl… I love her to death.
