Lynk

Graduate of the 2016 Trainer’s Challenge
Lynk is from a December 2015 Hubbard County abandonment and neglect case. He was a stud at intake but has now been gelded. He is a black stock type 2011 gelding who stands approximately 13.2hh. He did not have much handling in the past but is friendly and has come very far after spending the summer with trainer Lindsey Zimmerman in preparation for the 2016 Trainers’ Challenge. Lynk is now started under saddle and has even done some trail riding.  He is a sensitive horse and is still considered green broke at this time. Lynk is continuing his training with Lindsey and he does require an experienced and knowledgeable home.

Kipling (Update 04/02/18 Kipling has been adopted!)

ADOPTION PENDING. Kipling is a flashy blue-eyed black paint cross gelding who stands 15hh and was foaled in approximately 2010. He came to MHARF from a 2015 Benton County humane case. What handling he had in the past was apparently not very plentiful and not very kind. He is nervous about new things but he is also a friendly and curious horse so we have high hopes for him. He successfully participated in-hand in the 2015 Trainers’ Challenge of the Unwanted Horse but is not yet started under saddle. Because of his past, his trainers chose to take everything very slowly for him–which is exactly what he needs. Kipling is currently back in training but is not yet started under saddle. Kipling currently has an adoption pending.

Ki

ki spring 2016 3Graduate of the 2014 Trainer’s Challenge
Ki is a black 2005 Missouri Foxtrotter mare who came to MHARF in a 2013 humane case. She is a very nice mare who successfully completed our 2014 Trainers’ Challenge. She has had plenty of ground work, is broke to ride, and has trail experience. Ki is a gaited mare and is very energetic. She loves to move off down the trail. Suited to an advanced rider, an experienced youth or smaller adult. She has a slim build and is a high energy horse so does need supplemental grain. Ki is currently competing in the Truhaven 60 Day Rescued Horse Trail Challenge. She is available for adoption but will need to stay with her trainer until after the competition at the end of June.

Ivan (Ivan has been Adopted!)

Ivan is a beautiful POA cross gelding who was born in mid-May of 2014 and stands 14.1hh His dam, Sochi, was a 12.3 hand POA (Appaloosa x Shetland) from the 02/2014 Wadena County humane case. Ivan is a very curious and friendly young gelding who is quite athletic. Even though we don’t know who Ivan’s sire is, due to his conformation, size, and athleticism we are guessing he may have been a stock-type horse or even a mustang. Ivan spent the summer of 2017 in training for our 2017 Promise of the Future  training competition with trainer Elizabeth Robins. Ivan and Elizabeth took home Reserve Champion in this in-hand competition! (You can Ivan’s 2017 POF Facebook page Here!)

Ivan then went into training for our 2018 Trainer’s Challenge of the Unwanted Horse with trainer Melissa Stuckey. Ivan and Melissa competed successfully and took 6th Overall High Point. Ivan is going well under saddle and has now had trail and show experience. He is suitable for a confident intermediate to experienced rider at this time. You can follow their training journey throughout the summer of 2018 on Ivan’s Official Trainer’s Challenge Facebook Page Here!
