Banner, JoJo, Lakota Bay and Dreamer Enjoying Life in South Dakota

MHARF alumni JoJo, Banner, Lakota Bay and Dreamer (formerly Gretzky) are all enjoying life out in South Dakota where the climate is a little warmer! Jojo and Lakota Bay will be featured along with some of the kids from the Pine Ridge Reservation in a documentary for Swedish Public Television in the spring of 2019 (and you may recognize Thomas, Banner’s trainer from the 2018 Trainer’s Challenge). JoJo and Lakota, both mustangs, love the attention they receive from the kids.

Galileo (Galileo has been ADOPTED!)

Galileo is an adorable mini gelding who was foaled in 2005 and stands 36″ tall. He has experience giving pony rides while being led but we need to do a training assessment before we know if he can be ridden independently or if he needs more training to do so. He has had good handling in the past and has great ground manners and he leads very well. He is a little wary of dogs and will spook a little bit if one runs up to him–but he is getting much better with more exposure to them.

Knight (Knight has been Adopted!)

Knight is a 12.1hh bay roan welsh pony gelding who originally came to MHARF many years ago in a humane case. He was adopted but has now come back to us because the kids have grown up and they want him to find a new child to call his own! He is approximately 18 years old. He is not for a real beginner or very young child because he does need a rider who will be able to let him know they are in charge.

Tomato (Tomato has been Adopted!)

Tomato is a chestnut mini mare who came to MHARF from a November 2018 humane case. She is approximately in her late teens and 36″ tall. She was extremely shy at intake and her foster home has been getting her used to being handled. Tomato can’t be in with goats, sheep or other non-equines as she really dislikes them. Like all minis, she needs to be on a minimum of pasture (dry lot is best).
