Full of Spice (Spice has been adopted!)

Full of Spice is a 2001 15hh chestnut American Saddlebred mare who originally came to MHARF during a 2011 Pine County humane case. Spice was pregnant at intake and gave birth to her colt Spot in October of 2011. After he was weaned in 2012, Spice competed in the 2012 MHARF Trainer’s Challenge of the Unwanted Horse with trainer George Walker and she is broke to ride. She was adopted a few years later but is now being returned because her adopter can sadly no longer keep her.

Bojangles (Bojangles has been adopted!)

Bojangles is a pony who came in during an April 2018 humane case. He was an extreme case of neglect and in serious need of farrier care. Bojangles was taken into foster care by the Hay Chix (haychix.com) who are working on rehabbing him. He is well on is way to recovery!

Rest in Peace, Saraswaitie

Our hearts go out to Brenda on the loss of her beautiful mare Zarita (Saraswaitie). Zarita was an off-the-track-thoroughbred adopted through MHARF. (You may recognize this beautiful photo because Zarita and Brenda grace the “Adopt” button on our website). Thank you, Brenda, for giving this mare such a loving home and wonderful life!

Banner (Banner has been adopted!)

Banner is a 2003 15hh black and white pinto gelding who was originally born at MHARF after his pregnant mother, Kite, came in from a large 2002 Pine County humane case. Banner was adopted as a youngster but was never started under saddle. He has now been returned because his original adopter could no longer keep him. He is currently a student of our 2018 Trainer’s Challenge of the Unwanted Horse with trainer Thomas Smittle.

Ringo (Ringo has been Adopted!)

Ringo [Registered name Nite Illumination (RA Hot Every Nite x That’s Fancy)] is a pinto American Saddlebred gelding who came to us from a late March 2018 Kanabec County humane case. He was foaled in 2005 and stands 15.2hh. As of May 2019, Ringo is in training with Ralea Casperson of RKC Dressage, LLC.
