Ramona (update: Ramona has been adopted!)

Update: 01/06/18 Ramona has been Adopted!

Graduate of the 2013 Trainer’s Challenge
Ramona is sweet black mustang mare (originally from the Tower, MN, humane case). Even though she participated in the 2013 Trainers’ Challenge, we consider her extremely green under saddle as she had only been backed a about a dozen times.  She has had a lot of ground work and has wonderful manners. She was adopted last year but was returned because her owner regretfully could no longer keep her . She would love to find an adoptive home either as a companion horse (she is a very easy keeper and easy to have around) or with someone who will start up her training again.

Graduate of the 2016 Trainer’s Challenge
Poco originally came into MHARF during a 2013 Crow Wing County humane case (then called “Rastus”). He was adopted but has now been returned. He is a very sweet and friendly 2012 14.2hh (and growing) dun gelding of undetermined breeding (stock horse type). Poco’s right eye is sightless but this does not seem to be an issue for him. He competed in our 2016 Trainers’ Challenge with trainer Aubreanne Dockter.

Peter (update: Peter has been adopted!)

Update: Peter has been adopted! Peter is a pinto gelding who was foaled in 2013. He was originally part of the 2014 Wadena County humane case as an orphaned foal. He will likely mature large pony size (13hh). He  competed in-hand in the 2015 Truhaven Ranch Diamond in the Rough Competition.  During the winter of 2016 he was started lightly under saddle.

Odin (Odin has been Adopted!)

Odin is a very nice young grade POA type (a POA is a Pony of the Americas-which is a Shetland x appaloosa) gelding who was foaled in 2014 after his mother Odessa came in from the Wadena County humane case in 02/14.  He currently stands approximately 13.3hh.  Odin competed successfully in the 2016 Diamond in the Rough in-hand competition at Truhaven Ranch w/ trainers Sue Ann Woo and Deb Anderson. He was going to be placed in the 2018 MHARF Trainer’s Challenge but we  pulled him from training due to injury from a tying accident. He received regular vet check ups and chiropractic work during the summer and fall and has now recovered. Thank you to Melissa Stuckey of North County Haven for her diligent care of Odin!

Graduate of the 2016 Trainer’s Challenge
This absolutely stunning gelding is Newton, a 2003 15.1hh Arabian/Friesian cross. He was taken in by MHARF to assist his aging owner who could no longer handle him. He competed in the 2016 Trainer’s Challenge with the Wrisky Ranch team.
