Kazar is a sweet grey 2000 National Showhorse gelding who was surrendered to MHARF because of a wound that would not heal. He has been receiving treatment for this wound and is now healing up nicely. He will be available for adoption once we are certain he has healed completely and there will be no reoccurrence.
The Big Tee is a 1994 registered quarter horse gelding. He was originally adopted 10 years ago but now needs to find a new home because his adopter is off to school overseas! What his previous adopter says about him: “For the past 10 years Tee has been an excellent all around horse. He has been ridden English and Western, and we suspect he was trained in Western pleasure at some point. He can be lazy if his rider does not establish authority, so a beginning or timid rider may have trouble getting him to go–but he is perfectly safe for beginners and has taught several kids how to ride over the years. Because of his age he is best suited for light riding as he does get tired/sore after long trail rides or consecutive rides. He has a huge personality and loves doing tricks for treats. ” Because he is a senior horse and can no longer eat hay as well as he used to he does have special senior feeding requirements.
Pippin is a 14.1hh blue roan gelding who was foaled in 2000. We believe he is a quarter horse but really have no info on his breeding. He has been used as a lesson horse and a competition horse. He has dressage and jumping experience. His previous owner describes him as “sassy but safe”. He will test a rider he doesn’t know. He has jumped up to 3′ but is most comfortable at 2′ and under. He can get a little fresh at the canter if he hasn’t been ridden for awhile but is easy at walk/trot. Knows leg yield, shoulders and haunches in, turn on forehand, and turn on haunches. Has been ridden in kimberwicke or regular snaffle. He is currently being used as a western lesson horse and is great for confident advanced beginner or intermediate riders. He tends to be a more dominant horse in a group. He will also try to take advantage of a smaller or less experienced handler (trying to grab a bite of grass or walk off in a different direction–nothing dangerous ) but responds well to correction. Pippin came to us from a good home and has been well taken care of. His previous owner is no longer showing and wanted to give him the best chance at finding a new rider and a forever home! Update 11/13/23: Belle is experiencing some stiffness in one hip due to an old injury. She still loves to get out and walk the trails, but she does require daily pain medication to keep her riding-sound. We would love to find Belle a home as a very light riding or companion horse.
Belle is a beautiful 15.1hh 2004 bay off-the-track thoroughbred mare. She originally came to us as an owner surrender in 2017. We have had her in training twice (with Anna Hill at Longstocking Stables and with Jenna S Horse Training at Rik-a-Shay Ranch) and both times she did very well. She was adopted each time but returned both times (through no fault of her own) due to changing circumstances for adopter. This mare has the sweetest temperament. She likes to be in the barn and she does best being blanketed during cold weather turn out. She is passive in a herd. Belle has good ground manners, but she hasn’t been ridden in over a year, so she will be going back into training with Jenna S Horse Training for a refresher. She is suitable for an intermediate rider and up. Watch for updates!

Twizzler is a 14.2hh 2005 pinto gelding who originally came to MHARF several years ago in a humane case. He was adopted out but is now looking for a new home because his current rider has grown and needs a taller horse. Twizzler (formerly known as Ian) is a very nice horse and would be suitable for a confident advanced beginner on up. He has some dressage experience and has done well. He has also done some jumping but does not seem to enjoy it. He is probably happiest on trails. He does get a little “looky” when he encounters things he isn’t familiar with–so he needs a rider who will stay calm. We aren’t certain of his breeding but our best guess is that he has some Standardbred and also some Arabian.
