Brooks (deceased)

Sadly we had to make the decision to humanely euthanize Brooks (who came to MHARF during a May 2017 humane case) due to severe joint damage and soft tissue injury to both front legs that was detected through ultrasound. We suspect this damage occurred due to very hard use in the past and the injuries were never treated. Had they been treated in time it is possible that Brooks would have recovered. He was in a great amount of pain and his treatment team regretfully decided the most humane thing to do was to put him down.

Nova (Nova has been Adopted!)

Nova is a grade gaited mare who came to MHARF from a 2015 Hubbard County humane case. She is black rabicano (limited white roaning) and very pretty. She stands 14.3hh and was foaled around 2004.  Nova is broke to ride and her foster home/trainer has been working with her a lot. She is a sweet mare who tries very hard to please. Nova does have arthritis in her front hocks and currently has front shoes w/pads and her trainer reports she seems very comfortable now.

Cactus Katie (Adopted)

Cactus Katie is a bay pinto mare who was foaled around 2007 and stands approximately 14.2hh. She came in in May of 2017 from an Isanti County humane case. Katie was in foal at intake and she gave birth to a healthy colt (on 06/16/17) who we named Cactus Jack. Jack has now been weaned and Katie is ready to find a new home. She was not broke to ride so was placed with trainers Savannah Deutsch and Gina Fiorentino in for our 2019 Trainer’s Challenge.
