Lola (Lola has been Adopted!)

Lola is a thoroughbred mare who was foaled in 2006. She is Jockey Club registered (“Lovely Lil Lola”) and stands approximately 16.1hh. She came to us in 2019 as an owner surrender due a family emergency. Lola was started under saddle several years ago but she was still very green when she came in. She is currently back in training with Shaylor Alley. He says she has a great mind and is a very nice mare who is currently suitable for an intermediate rider and up. You can see Lola under saddle in these videos.

Star (Adopted)

Star is an appaloosa mare (solid sorrel, registered name: Free Wheelin Starlet) who was foaled in 2004. She came to MHARF in December 2019 because her owner was ill and could no longer care for her. Star was in good weight but she has not seen a vet or farrier in many years. She was friendly but not yet halter broke at intake time. She went into a foster home where she was halter broke and received all necessary vet and farrier care. Star had been a lone horse for many years and was very happy to see other horses as soon as she arrived in her foster home. Star was then placed with trainer  Shaylor Alley for the 2020 Trainer’s Challenge. She competed successfully, taking home Sixth Overall Highpoint. Star was adopted at the Challenge, but has now been returned (June 2024) because her adopter could no longer keep her. She has now gone to HH Stables for a training assessment and a refresher so we can give the most accurate information on her current training level to a potential adopter.

Henry (Henry has been Adopted!)

Henry is a dun gelding in his late teens who came to us from a November 2019 Chisago County humane case. Henry has been in our “rehab” program since November. He had his dental work done at intake and was treated for a pretty large parasite load he had been carrying. He has gained weight nicely and is now ready to be adopted out to a new home.

Olaf (Olaf has been Adopted!)

Olaf is a miniature horse who was foaled in approximately July 2019. He came in with his mother from a November 2019 Chisago County humane case. Olaf has now been weaned and gelded and is available for adoption.

Svenna (Svenna has been ADOPTED!)

Update: Svenna has been Adopted!

Svenna is a silver dapple miniature mare who came to MHARF from a November 2019 Chisago County humane case along with her 4 month old colt. She spent several days at the University of MN having her intake vet work done. She has been in a foster home since intake. Her colt is now  being weaned and her foster home has decided to adopt her.  The horses from this case had some of the heaviest internal parasite loads we have seen ( fecal float showed 1800 eggs per gram) so we have been working with the vet to get that under control.
