Scout (Scout has been Adopted!)

Update: Scout has been adopted!

This bay gelding came in from a recent Sherburne County case. He is an Arabian, approximately 13.2hh, and in his early 20’s. He was a former camp horse. He was in much need of dental care at intake and thankfully he has now had that done and is moving to a foster home where he can gain some much needed weight! Stay tuned for updates!

Shiloh (Sherburne County #402)

Shiloh is a black gelding in his early to mid-twenties. He came in from a recent 2019 Sherburne County case. He is an extremely sweet and kind boy who spent many years as a camp horse. Shiloh has the teeth of a senior horse and requires a lot of mash as he can no longer eat hay. He has had dental work done so we could get his teeth back into the best shape possible. Lucky for Shiloh, he had great sponsors, which allowed him to spend the winter in a heated barn while he gained back that much needed weight. Shiloh is also blind in one eye due to an old injury, but this does not seem to affect him. Shiloh has put on a good amount of weight and would love to find a new home where he will get the care a senior horse needs and deserves. Having spent many years as a camp horse, Shiloh is very well broke to ride. (Thank you so much to Shiloh’s current sponsor Jodi for helping out with his expenses until he finds a new home!)

Amari (Amari has been Adopted!)

Amari is a sweet bay Arabian mare who stands 14.2hh and was foaled in approximately 1998-99. She is well broke to ride and is suitable for a child or a small adult for lighter riding. She is a timid mare with other horses and tends to be at the bottom of the pecking order so she needs a home where she will be kept with a kind companion or in her own paddock. She is currently getting grain twice a day and will need this to continue. She is also accustomed to being blanketed in the winter. Sweet mare with a great temperament!

Fritzy (Fritzy has been Adopted!)

Fritzy does have an adoption pending.

Fritzy is a medium pony gelding who was foaled in approximately 2000. He originally came to MHARF as a yearling and was adopted. He was recently returned because his adopter could sadly no longer keep him. Fritzy has been used for lead line rides but needs further training to be ridden independently. Fritzy (like most ponies) should be kept on a  dry lot.

Meeka (Meeka has been Adopted!)

Meeka came to MHARF in an August 2019 Stearns County humane case.  She was not halter broke and had not had vet or farrier care for a long time (if ever).  She was also pregnant. Unfortunately, Meeka’s foal was born prematurely and he did not survive due to complications from Neonatal Maladjustment Syndrome, despite in-hospital veterinary treatment. Meeka was very distressed at first but she is doing better every day. She is doing well with handling and becoming friendlier all the time. Meeka is not yet broke to ride.
