Patches (Adopted)

Patches is a very nice Tennessee Walking Horse gelding who was foaled in 1999. He stands approximately 15hh. Patches is a nice gelding who came to MHARF in 2019 because his owner could sadly no longer keep him. He has very nice ground manners, is great for vet and farrier. He was adopted in 2020 after  having refresher training with Marirose Berner of MJB Horse Training but is now coming back to MHARF due to changing circumstances for his adopter.  While he was in training in 2020, Marirose said he was a lot of fun to ride and did well on trails and in the arena but he had more “go” than “whoa” and a lot of energy so is best suited for a confident intermediate to advanced rider.  Patches was recently diagnosed with Equine Metabolic Syndrome and is currently taking Thyro-L. He will need an adopter who is willing to keep him on a diet and give him plenty of exercise. He was also treated recently for a hoof abscess.  Our plan will be to get Patches back in to training for a refresher as soon as we have room since he has not been ridden for over a year.

Meena (Meena has been Adopted!)

Meena is a Friesian mare (we do not have pedigree info on her) who stands approximately 16hh and was foaled in approximately 2009. Meena’s previous owner was in a debilitating car accident in 2019 and the family reached out to MHARF as the best option to ensure a safe future for her three horses. Meena is an extremely sweet, gentle mare who is very passive in a group. Please note: Meena cannot be ridden due to a gastroc tendon tear and DSLD (degenerative suspensory ligament desmitis) which is a genetic condition. She is currently sound at the walk and trot and showing no signs of discomfort, but has been deemed a “pasture ornament only” after her most recent veterinary evaluation. So we are hoping to find an adoptive or foster home where this pretty mare can just hang out and receive the attention she loves.
