Alice (Alice has been Adopted!)

Alice is a beautiful sorrel weanling filly who was born on 08/17/18. Her mother Nutmeg came to MHARF in a December 2017 humane case. Nutmeg is a stock-type mare, probably quarter horse, and we believe Alice’s sire is an Arabian. Alice is a big, healthy and energetic filly with a lot of chrome! She has now been weaned and is competing with trainer Deb Anderson in our 2019 Promise of the Future Training Competition. She will be available for adoption at the event on September 7th. Laetisha


Laetisha is a 2001 bay tobiano half-Arabian mare who came to MHARF because her owner could no longer keep her. Laetisha is a sweet mare and is broke to ride.

Gretzki (Update: Gretzki has been adopted!)

Gretski is a 2009 mustang smokey black/ buckskin gelding who stands approximately 14.3 hh.  He originally came to MHARF in a humane case with his mother Ramona. He competed in our 2012  Trainer’s Challenge with trainer Chris Walz. He was adopted by Chris after the Challenge but sadly Chris can no longer keep him because of relocation. He was ridden consistently between 2012 and 2016 but has not been ridden for over a year now. He does have trail experience. Gretzki has never been ridden by anyone but Chris and right now he does require an experienced rider and really needs a person he can bond with.  Chris says he is very smart. Gretski is an “easy keeper” and tends to be on the heavy side–so ideally he should be on a dry lot or restricted diet unless he is getting worked regularly. He has had some issues with heaves in the past and has been on the supplement Lung EQ and that seemed to work well for him. He has also had abscesses in both front feet but has not had an issue with that for over a year.

Siskowit Golden Lady (Lady has been adopted!)

 


Lady has been ADOPTED

This palomino mare came to us from a late-April 2018 Brown County humane case. DNA testing through the American Morgan Horse Association has shown that she is Siskowit Golden Lady and was foaled in 2000.  Lady spent the summer in our rehabilitation program.  She required extensive dental work due to many years of having no dental care. She has been preg-checked and is not in foal.

Delia (Student of the 2019 Trainer’s Challenge)

Delia has been ADOPTED!

This chestnut mare came to us from a late-April 2018 Brown County humane case. Her estimated date of birth is 2010 and she stands approximately 14.2hh. We have DNA confirmation from the Canadian Morgan Horse Association (thank you to the American Morgan Horse Association for their assistance on this!) that she is a purebred Morgan. Her sire is  Sable Knight Kursier and her dam is Krila’s Eagle Feather.  This mare is not registered but she is registerable. All of her vet work has been completed, including dental and preg-check (not in foal). She is now at a decent weight and is ready to find a new home. She’s very pretty and a nice mover. She is not broke to ride to so she has been placed with trainer Gretchen Kapeller for our 2019 Trainer’s Challenge. She will spend the spring and summer in training and will compete in the Challenge on Sept. 7th.
