“He’s Been a Blessing in My Life”

Thank you to Rhonda for this update on her adopted horse Dallas (formerly “Captain”). Dallas is a senior gelding who was recently diagnosed with penile cancer which Rhonda is working with her veterinarian to treat. She says Dallas has been a really good boy all through treatment. “He’s been such a blessing in my life, I believe I have been a blessing in his also. He loves people, loves loves attention. He’s very vocal.” Rhonda,

A Note from Willie (Ghillie)

“I want you to know I am doing really well in my new home. There are a lot of new things here, but Kathleen comes out to the paddock and my stall about 100 times a day to hold me. I am eating pretty well and running around when I get excited. She says that’s a good thing for my recent surgery. The vet told her that.

“Allie and Zoe Truly Brought Out the Best in Each Other”

We want to share this memorial to MHARF alum Zoe (formerly Sally Forth) who passed away recently and extend our sympathy to her adoptive family. Zoe, who originally came to MHARF in early spring of 2016, competed in our 2016 Trainer’s Challenge with trainers Derek and Sasha Kohlhase of Dart Ranch. Thanks to her generous sponsor, Cindy R., she was able to continue her training with Derek and Sasha, who then assisted with her placement in the perfect adoptive home in 2017 with a young rider named Allie.

Bartol (Adopted)

Bartol is an appaloosa pony gelding who was foaled in 2017. He is a medium sized pony standing approximately 11hh. He is not broke to ride but he has a rider on his back and been led around several times (thank you to his previous foster family, the Fedewas). He also has good ground manners. Bartol came to us at the emergency request of his owner because she no longer had a place to keep him.

Rest in Peace, Scarlet

We are always sad to hear that one of our alumni has crossed the “Rainbow Bridge”, but we are thankful to Carla and her family for doing all they could for Scarlet and for knowing when it was time to make the final, kindest decision for her. We know if wasn’t easy and we are sorry for the loss of their beautiful mare.
“I wanted to let you know that Scarlet (formerly Christa) who we adopted in March of 2015 had to be put down in February after a long battle to recover from a deep digital flexor tendon injury in her right front leg.
