Star (Star has been ADOPTED!)

Star has been ADOPTED!

Star is an appaloosa mare (solid sorrel, Registered name: Free Wheelin Starlet) who was foaled in 2004. She came to MHARF in December 2019 because her owner is ill and can no longer care for her. Star is in good weight but she has not seen a vet or farrier in many years. She is friendly but not yet halter broke at intake time. She is now in a foster home where she will be halter broke and will receive all necessary vet and farrier care.

Henry (Henry has been Adopted!)

Henry is a dun gelding in his late teens who came to us from a November 2019 Chisago County humane case. Henry has been in our “rehab” program since November. He had his dental work done at intake and was treated for a pretty large parasite load he had been carrying. He has gained weight nicely and is now ready to be adopted out to a new home.

Poppy is a buckskin miniature filly who was foaled in spring of 2019. She came to MHARF from a November 2019 Chisago County humane case. Poppy spent several days at Anoka Equine Veterinary Services having her intake vet work done and being treated for pneumonia and a heavy parasite load. The horses from this case had some of the heaviest internal parasite loads we have seen ( fecal float showed 1800 eggs per gram).
