Tipper (Companion Home Only)

Tipper is an Arabian gelding who was foaled around 2002. We were contacted by the neighbor of Tipper’s elderly owner  during the summer of 2020 in hopes that we could convince the owner to sign him over due to the fact that she was no longer able to care for him. Tipper was well-loved, but he was in need of regular vet care, consistent handling, and training. Thanks to the help of Michelle and Kaitlyn Fedewa,

“She’s so darn smart!”

Thank you to Emily for this update on Eowyn (formerly Electra). This pretty Arabian mare came to MHARF from a 2017 St. Louis County humane case and competed in our 2018 Trainer’s Challenge with trainer Natalie Linders. Emily has been great about sending us regular updates and we really love to receive them!

Pearl (Adopted)

Pearl is a young Appaloosa mare (foaled in approximately 2017) who was signed over to MHARF after she was purchased at a Long Prairie, MN, auction in September 2020 (thank you to Kym Garvey of Save the Brays Donkey Rescue and to everyone who donated towards her purchase). She spent several days at Anoka Equine Veterinary Services being closely monitored and receiving her intake care. Radiographs showed that she had an untreated jaw fracture that had become badly infected.

Topaz (Adopted)

Topaz is a young dun mare (foaled in approximately 2018) who was signed over to MHARF after she was purchased at a Long Prairie, MN, auction in September 2020 (thank you to Kym Garvey of Save the Brays Donkey Rescue and to everyone who donated towards her purchase). She spent several days at Anoka Equine Veterinary Services being closely monitored and receiving her intake care. Bloodwork showed that she was anemic and had been starved to the point that her body had begun to utilize protein from muscle tissue to survive.
