Rest in Peace Jack O’ Hearts

Thank you so much to Dani and her family for giving Jack O’Hearts such a great home for so many years! We are very sorry for their loss.

“It’s with mixed emotions and heavy heart we update you that our MHARF alum Jack O’Hearts was humanely euthanized Tuesday 10/2/18. It was an honor working with Jack and being his best friend and partner for the last 12 years. We thank the rescue for giving Jacko a chance.

Pine County Black Mare

This old mare (foaled in approximately 1996) was surrendered to MHARF in an October 2018 Pine County humane case. She had a ruptured pre-pubic tendon, a large hernia, and a severe rupture in her abdominal fascia. A full veterinary work-up and ultra sound was done at Anoka Equine Veterinary Services. After viewing and discussing results with the entire veterinary team, it was determined that surgical correction was not an option as the mare would not have survived the surgery.

Kelso the Wonder Pony
