We were really pleased to get this update from Mary on how Shotzie is settling into her new home. Shotzie was without a companion at her previous home, so how great is it that she now has a new horsey best friend?

“She’s working out fabulously. I’m easing her into life slowly here, but she is already BFFs with our gelding. I think they both were looking for connection. Phew!

Ruby (Adopted)

Ruby is a 2009 thoroughbred mare (not off the track) who came to MHARF in August 2023 as an owner surrender. She is broke to ride and is currently at HH Stables for continued training. Ruby has been ridden in the arena and on the trail. She really seems to enjoy being out on the trail and will lead or follow. Ruby is a big mare (standing approximately 16.3hh) and is a really pretty mover.

Fern (Adopted)

Fern is a pony filly who came to MHARF as an owner surrender. She has an injured eye at intake which could not be saved. She underwent eye enucleation (removal) surgery at Anoka Equine and is now recovering in her foster home.

Holly (Adopted)

Holly is a Clydesdale mare who came to MHARF in July of 2023 as an owner surrender. She has had her intake veterinary and farrier work done. She was also preg-checked and found to be not in foal.

Rest in Peace, Anney

Our hearts go out to Barry and his family on the loss of their beloved “Anney”, adopted twenty-one years ago. We are so thankful for the wonderful home they provided for this sweet mare.
“We had to say goodbye today after 21 plus years of loving and caring for our Anney. You knew her as “Brown Eyes” from the Pine County 45 group. The vet diagnosed her with end stage heart failure.
