Cheeks Adopted)

Cheeks is a 2023 filly who came to MHARF in a September 2023 Carlton County humane case along with her dam, Jasmine. Cheeks was weaned in late 2023 and is ready to find an adoptive home. Cheeks’ dam, Jasmine, is a draft cross mare, so she will most likely have some size when she matures.

Etta (Adopted)

Etta is a 15.2hh gray mare (foaled in approximately 2016) who came to MHARF from a September 2023 Carlton County humane case. She had her 2023 filly at her side and had also “adopted” a black colt who had been rejected by his mother. Both foals were subsequently weaned when ready and in December we had bloodwork run on Etta to confirm that she was not in foal for 2024 (because she had been turned out with a stallion before she came to MHARF in September).

Baxter (Adopted)

This very well-behaved gelding is our most recent intake (late August 2023). He has now had all of his intake veterinary work done at Anoka Equine Veterinary Services. His estimated age is early 20’s, but he is hard to age because his upper teeth have been worn down from cribbing. His mouth is quite ulcerated due to sharp points, but that will heal now that his teeth have been floated.

Jack (Adopted)

We have an update on baby Pygmy goat, Jack. He’s been adopted by a wonderful person with a lot of goat knowledge. (Thank you, Ruth!) Ruth reports that Jack is currently living in his own space in the house where she can keep a close eye on him.
