“Love, love, love our boy!”

This update comes courtesy of Charlotte who wanted to let us know how well Harley (formerly Kristoff) is doing at Welcome Ranch:
“Harley is a big goofball! He is king of the game ‘bite face’ with all of the geldings. He is VERY active and plays a lot. He’s not so sure about his acupuncture treatments, but he sure feels better when they’re done! He tries to “help” so… tools/shovels/tractor/wheelbarrow beware 😆 He is spoiled rotten,

Scout and Lily the mini horses

Thank you to Linda for adopting Scout’s mama Lily and ensuring that both she and Scout have a great home!

“Scout, on left, will be 2 soon. He was born with Achondroplasia. He brings sunshine on the cloudiest days. We adopted his mother, Lily, from Minnesota Hooved Animal Rescue. Lily was in foal at that time. Patches, his bestie, has been with us for many years. She will be 26.”  » Read more about: Scout and Lily the mini horses  »

“I’m so lucky to have found such an amazing and goofy horse!”

Thank you to Syd for this update on Norman, whom she adopted last summer after meeting him while he was in training with Wendy DeCamp at Essence of Equus: “I am so lucky to have found such an amazing and goofy horse.
(Next year we both plan to attend UW River Falls Wisconsin for Animal and Equine science). He stole my senior photo spotlight! (PS. He has an Instagram @StorminNorman05!!!).”

We are “incredibly thankful for these boys…”

Three years to the day Tonka’s adopter first saw him posted on Facebook, she sent us this re-creation of the pictures that made her fall in love with him! (Tonka spent several weeks at Anoka Equine Veterinary Services in 2019 and was quite a favorite there.) From Lindsey: “December 19th will always be a date I hold deep in my heart! It was the first time I saw a picture of Tonka through Anoka Equine’s Facebook post.

Sawyer and Paris: a perfect couple!

We received these beautiful photos of MHARF alumni Sawyer and Paris. Sawyer was adopted by Kathleen in 2010 after he came to MHARF as a weanling from a humane case. Paris (formerly known as Pink) came to us just this past September as an owner surrender. It wasn’t until volunteers Janette and Craig arrived to pick her up that we knew how extremely lame she was. She was taken to Anoka Equine Veterinary Services where they confirmed she had a severe case of stringhalt.  » Read more about: Sawyer and Paris: a perfect couple!  »
