Pigeon (Adopted)

Pigeon is a sorrel gelding who was foaled in approximately 2007. He came to MHARF as an owner surrender during a recent Kanabec County humane case. Pigeon has been in our rehab program while he had his intake vet work done, was treated for lice, and put on some weight. He has now been moved to a foster home but he hasn’t been assessed for training level yet at this time.

Redwing (Adopted)

Redwing is a sorrel quarter horse mare who was foaled in approximately 2002. She came to MHARF from an April 2022 Kanabec County humane case. She was in need of care for the untreated cancer on the nictitating membrane on her right eye (as well as in need of some calories, as you can see in her intake pics). We are happy to say that her surgery was successful! The surgical margins were clear. The nictitating membrane (third eyelid) was the only thing involved and it was removed completely, so the prognosis is excellent that the cancer will not return (thank you, Anoka Equine Veterinary Services!). Redwing, who is approximately 15.1hh, has now gone to MJB Horse Training for a training assessment. As of this time, they have been working on some refresher training in the arena and we would say that Redwing is suitable for an intermediate rider and up.

Bartol (Adopted)

Bartol is an appaloosa pony gelding who was foaled in 2017. He is a medium sized pony standing approximately 11hh. He is not broke to ride but he has a rider on his back and been led around several times (thank you to his previous foster family, the Fedewas). He also has good ground manners. Bartol came to us at the emergency request of his owner because she no longer had a place to keep him. He has always been very well taken care of.

Maya (Adopted)

Maya is a bay roan mare came to MHARF during a recent March 2022 Pine County humane case. She is a senior mare, aged possibly in late 20’s to 30’s. We don’t normally adopt a horse out until it has been through our rehab program; however, when given the opportunity to adopt Maya out to a new home with the experience necessary to care for her during the refeeding and rehab process, we decided it was the best thing to do for her at her age. She is now in a wonderful new home where she is getting the continuing veterinary care she requires.

Cap (Adopted)

Cap is a bay grade quarter horse gelding came to MHARF during a recent March 2022 Pine County humane case. He was foaled in approximately 2012. He has now gone to trainer Marirose Berner of MJB Horse Training to begin his training assessment. However, she is starting slowly with him because he still needs to put on weight at this time. He has a great temperament and good ground manners. Watch for updates!
